PRE-FALL 2026
In Color. In Form.
For Summer/Pre‑Fall 2026, Albert Kriemler continues his creative dialogue with Hard‑Edge artist Leon Polk Smith. The artist’s sharp use of color, contrast, and geometry inspires a collection defined by architectural precision and tactile sensibility.
“In his work lies a vibrancy and presence that feels essential; ultimately, an optimism and spirit I deeply identify with,” says Albert Kriemler.
BLACK & WHITE PRINTS
Combining colorless hues like black and white is a modern interpretation of effortless minimalism, yet instead of monochrome, it reads bolder and more vibrant.
Zebra-print pony-hair calfskin defines signature shapes like the pencil skirt and sheath dress.
The “Dance Movements” print, inspired by Smith’s rhythmic drawings (1940) and the syncopated beat of 1940s New York nightlife, plays across blouses and a shirt dress. Timeless, with a pulse.
MALVA & OTTANIO
Malva and Ottanio anchor the season’s color story, marking a shift from Summer to Pre-Fall through tone, texture, and weight.
Malva is the summer note: a refined midpoint between pastel lightness and confident purple. Modern rather than romantic, it comes alive in fluid silk georgette and viscose-silk mélange.
Ottanio is the pre-fall key: a blue–aquatic-green fusion with natural depth. In suede and nappa leather, it deepens and gains structure. Strongest in monochrome, both shades make a one-color statement, clean silhouettes let nuance carry the look.
The collection channels that energy into pared back sophistication: daywear with pulse and ease. Modern utility goes deeper this season: workwear is reimagined, blending the ease of utilitarian dressing with a new spirit of elegance. Pockets, once purely practical, are elevated as statements, becoming defining elements of form.
A graphic silhouette emerges in stark contrasts: luminous hues of malva, ottanio, purple, and tourmaline are set against grounded neutrals of black, denim blue, and camel. Black-and-white prints and sequins echo Smith’s signature tension between form and color.
Straightforward shapes define the look: the sheath, the pencil skirt. Crisp cotton shirting and tweed suiting deliver instant precision; leather is introduced as a summer fabric, sharpening the line.
BAGS
For Pre-Fall 2026, accessories are defined by contrast, texture, and craftsmanship. The Zebra Bag brings a graphic interpretation of animal print, where bold black-and-white stripes create a modern, architectural statement.
Alongside it, the iconic Alice bag returns in Akris’ signature horsehair, reimagined in muted tones inspired by Leon Polk Smith’s palette. Lightweight and luminous, the material reveals exceptional depth and character through every detail.
